“Joseph Arthur的音乐与画作都充满了直觉的力量，来自深处的力量。”R.E.M（美国著名摇滚音乐团）的主唱Michael Stipe说。从97年在Peter Gabriel 的音乐厂牌Real World Records发布处女专辑开始，到 2010年他那吸引了 Ben Harper（美国传奇音乐人）与Dhani Harrison （The Beatles成员George Harrison之子）加盟的乐队Fistul of Mercy 的欧洲巡演，十余年来，Joseph Arthur这位美国的重要音乐人录制了近20张个人专辑与EP，他执著地写歌，并钻研他那充满灵感的抽象派艺术，并于07 年 6 月在曼哈顿大桥桥下区（Brooklyn's DUMBO District）开了个人的实体画廊 《The Museum of Modern Arthur》。在录音棚里，他的音乐制作精良，编曲与整理层次分明，而在舞台上，他的solo更是始终充满灵感，似乎糅合了他那极富抽象感的绘画理念。耐人寻味的而心醉神迷的旋律，内省而哲思的歌词：极少的艺术家能如他一样，使观众们账目结舌静静地洗耳恭听，洗去伪装，洗去敌意与戒备，让我们再次赤裸而坦诚地相对。Joseph Arthur，一个注定无法被遗忘的名字。
