    典，经也；谟，谋也。典谟，泛指经典之文，亦是对先秦历史哲学经典篇章的统称。
    在中国古代，典谟之篇只能为士大夫阶层所读。今时今日，世人已能读到其中的大部分篇章。然经典法言文本晦涩，寓意艰深。典谟新知主办多场读书会，试图在咖啡馆开放包容之平台上，吸引并召集更多爱读书爱生活的人们关注经典文化，并尽绵薄之力令经典文化为今人所知，易知，是为“新知”。咖啡馆也因此打上了深深的文化烙印，并将“贵和尚中”的东方元素融入到咖啡馆恬静又不失活泼的环境中。

   "典"stands for the quintessential works of ancient Chinese literality,while"谟"stands for the essence of ancient Chinese strategies. The phrase"典谟"means the assembly of essence of ancient Chinese Philosophy,which back in old time China was once only available to scholars and governors.
    In concurrent days, essences like"典谟"have already been open to ordinary population. However, those Essences are filled with profound allegories making them illegible. We devote ourselves in the popularization of classic essences of Chinese Culture, in our coffee shop, by hosting book salon for reading circles and providing atmospheres of cultural diversity to people who like to enjoy their lives more, which we call Neo-knowledge"新知".
The combination of Essence and Neo-knowledge not only charms this coffee shop for its cultural character, but will also bring the eastern doctrine of golden mean into the blended ambiences of relaxation and lustiness.
