沈丕基 PIJI SHEN

福建闽南人-- 自幼随祖父习国画、书法并随父学二胡--后自学吉他----1993年到深圳工作后任“黑洞”乐队吉他手-- 1997年组建“向日葵”地下摇滚乐队任吉他兼主唱-

Born in Zhaoan, Fujian, which is renowned for Chinese brush paintings, Piji has learnt the basics of Chinese brush paintings and calligraphy from his grandfather. In addition, he has also learnt to play the traditional musical instrument, Er-hu from his dad when he was young. In 1993, he began his work in Shenzhen, and became the guitarist of the Heidong Band. In 1997, he started a rock band, Xiangrikui, where he performed as the guitarist and the sole singer.

目前除“向日葵”乐队的表演外--个人尝试电音与民族乐器的结合--特别是二胡与古琴上的探索,并且在当代艺术上大量创作声音装置作品。个人认为中国传统韵律与各民族的音乐精髓都是经过千锤百炼出来的好东西--更加思考着在现代与传统、国际化与各民族之间的共性与矛盾--也不想生硬的结合--但求一种相融与沟通。

Besides playing in THE SUNFLOWER, he is also experimenting on merging electronic musical instruments with traditional musical instruments. With emphasis on Erhu, he has also created various music together with modern musical instruments. He believes that the traditional Chinese musical instruments is derived from over a thousand years of essence, and should be used closely for better music, such that people from different traditions and nationality can be bounded and communicated through music. .
