The Dublingers
Chinese Band "Dublingers" Puts The Irish In Beijing
-------------Newyorktimes
Between Dublin and Beijing… here are the Dublingers. They play irish traditional music for one year in Beijing. The band consists in Zhang Yang (violin), Zoe Wang (accordion), Li Hong (bodhran and percussions), Da Fei (guitar) and Nico Torrese (banjo, mandolin). Their music is fully inspired by the rich repertoire of Ireland, with its reels and ballads. This music is still very lively nowadays, performed everyday in pubs of Ireland. Blending energy and emotion, this music perfectly fits to warm and friendly ambiances.
The Dublingers have regular gigs in Beijing (Paddy O’Shea pub, Salud, Ginkgo…). They have recently performed in Qingdao, promoting irish tourism at the Volvo Ocean Race. And, of course, they celebrate Saint-Patrick’s day among the irish community of Beijing.
