Noel Gallagher has dismissed the idea that Oasis could reunite next year to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut album 'Definitely Maybe'.
In June (2013), Noel's brother Liam Gallagher told NME that the band had "unfinished business" and suggested that he and Noel could "bury the hatchet for a quick lap of honour" to celebrate the anniversary.
However, Noel has now ruled out the possibility of an Oasis tour in 2014. Asked during an appearance on Andy Goldstein and Jason Cundy's talkSPORT radio show on Thursday (August 15) if there is any truth to reunion rumours, Gallagher replied with a simple "no".
He was then asked whether he would like to reform the band next year, and once again responded with a short, sharp "no" before confirming: "No, it definitely won't happen."
Though Gallagher admitted he isn't against the idea of Oasis reuniting further down the line, his subsequent comments sounded less than enthusiastic. "Look, who knows what would happen in, like, 20 years but 20 years from now, I'd be… 60. I mean, really, hopefully I'll end up retired by then," he said.
Asked what would make him want to reform Oasis, given that money is clearly no issue for him, Gallagher replied: "If I felt like it," and confirmed that "yes", it would ultimately be his decision to get the band back together.
