Dear sir,
The other day, one TV Show unveiled the truth why the crew couldn't see the iceberg much earlier.
There was a guy who hold the key of the ship's telescope box, but he was ordered to get off when Titanic was departing. That caused the big tragedy of the unsinkable directly.
Maybe there are other explanations. What do you think?

《The loss of the Titanic》

The angle of survivor
The great ship, Titanic sailed for New York from Southampton on April 10th, 1912. I was one of the survivors of 707. The 46,000 ton Titanic was a colossal ship and carried more than 2,200 passengers and crew. Titanic was not only the largest ship that had been built, but also was regarded as unsinkable, for she had sixteen watertight compartments. Even if two of these were flooded, she would still be able to float. She went down on her first voyage with heave loss of life. I will never forget the Titanic sinking of this great liner.
At that time, we had setting out for four days. While the Titanic was sailing across the icy water of the North Atlantic, huge iceberg was spotted by a lookout. I heard the alarm went off when I was approaching the deck. I ran to the deck quickly. The great ship turned sharply to avoid a direct collision just in time, narrowly missing the immense walk of ice which rose over 100 feet out of the water beside her. Passengers did not notice that there was a trembling sound from below and enjoy their party. The captain went down to see what had happened. Captain found that the ship had been damaged. Some of crew said loudly that five of her sixteen compartments had already been flooded. I realized our horror that the Titanic would be sunk rapidly. I was lucky and found a lifeboat that could carry one more person, I board lifeboat smoothly. The order to abandon ship was given and hundred of people plunged into the icy water. As there were not enough lifeboats for everybody, 1500 lives were lost.
