As we continue in our pledge to support young up and coming artists, Gallery G1 asks that you join us to experience the enthusiasm of contemporary abstract art in our new exhibition “Abstract Talk”, 17:00 this Sunday 3rd November at No. 751 Yi Chang Road.
This joint exhibition features work by two extremely interesting young female artists Chi Qun and Su Yi who both recently graduated from China Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. Both artists’ work demonstrate their fascination in and understanding of fundamental elements of abstraction such as point, line, space and colour yet at the same time each artist individually expresses themselves through unique style. Due to her delicate managing of linear form many of Chi Qun’s paintings look as though they have been finely sewn together with needle and thread, thus creating captivating patchworks of entwining geometrical shapes. Su Yi finely addresses space in her paintings through the combination of simple colours and well-balanced form which enable one to delve deep beyond the surface of her pictures.
Correct deduction from the show’s title, we invite you to converse with the works by these two talented young artists and lend your mind to aspects of the abstract.
“Abstract Talk” will open at 17:00 on Sunday 3rd November at Gallery G1, No.751 Yi Chang Road, Shanghai and will run for 50 days, until 23rd December 2013.
