…And then,it remained a white sheet.
"Pure power gathers in a flash, before it disappears straight away. There is no possibility to possess it; however, this is the game, the beginning of the pursuit of desire."
Arc Space is proud to present “…And then, it remained a white sheet.” from 2015. May 31 to Jun 28. Artist Pan Ke was born in Hangzhou, China and grew up in Italy. Now her life and work pattern connects her closely with both Milan and Hangzhou. Art performance “…And then, it remained a white sheet” is a piece of artwork created during her stay in Arc Space as a resident artist. It is a common work created together with students from Art School of RUC.
Pan Ke’s artistic work is in a simple form but with rich logic. The power of her work bursts from a mild and cautious form, instead of a revolutionary and progressive form. The exhibition in Arc Space only partially shows the growth of her image creation; however, it will present its full form as time goes. At some point of time, criticalness will go viral to the middle of the system.
“…And then, it remained a white sheet.” is one of the final entries of Arc Space's initial project “Searching for Artists”. The exhibition and related activities are organized by Jerome. There will be three public project plans, including “philosophy discussion on the night of pre-exhibition”, “…And then, it remained a white sheet.”art performance, “The Artist Is Present and post-movie discussion”. Thank you for Yu Chun, Qian Wenda, Peggy, Sun Wangyang, Wang Guandi and all the others’s participation in the art performance. Thank you for Li Ze’s video recording.
Pan Ke was born in Hangzhou, China. She grew up in Italy and graduated from Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. Now she lives and works in Beijing and Milan.
