The Sea are 2 brothers Alex and Peter D’Chisholme from London, England.
A rock duo of just 1 guitar, 1 drum kit and screaming vocals – all turned up LOUD.
The combination of blues versus their guttural emphatic harmonies kick your ears into touch in the opening collision on the first list of The Sea.
Influences such as MC5, The White Stripes, The Kills and a smattering of Stooges jostle for attention as the boys put pedal to metal. Punk and blues crash together with a fresh punk vibe. It’s raw, fast and dirty.
Their live shows are a white hot sweaty affair that has earned them an army of fans all over Europe and a live reputation that’s second to none. They’ve sold out headline tours all over Europe, America, Canada and the UK and have supported Muse, The Enemy, The Kills and James Morrison as well as playing some of the biggest festivals in the world including SXSW, Glastonbury and CMJ.
Their music has featured on many television programs in UK, USA, Germany and France and they have been cover stars all over the European music press including album of the week in The Guardian, Kerrang, The Fly, Visions, NME, Uncle Sally’s, Rock Sound, Classic Rock and many others.
In Nov 2012 also went top 5 in the German charts...
Love Love Love and Get It Back (2008 – 2010)
By April 2008, the duo won the XFM unsigned competition to play at Brixton Academy to 5000 people and went on to support The Enemy at London’s Brixton Academy. By October that year they completed their first extensive tour of the UK AND were invited to play the CMJ Music Marathon in New York.
The Sea’s debut single Love Love Love on their own label Lusty Records sold out within two months of release in January 2009, receiving critical acclaim in the UK music press from NME,[Kerrang!, The Fly and was one of Pete Cashmore's singles of the week in The Guardian.
In April 2009 their debut album Get It Back was released in UK on Lusty Records and on Pop Up Records in Europe.
The rest of the year was spent touring the UK and Europe which included supporting Muse at their Teignmouth homecoming gigs in September and CMJ in New York in October. Touring continued into 2010 with their first sold out[citation needed] headline tour in Europe including dates in Germany, France, Switzerland, Belgium and Holland, then culminating into a final performance at South by Southwest (SXSW).
Rooftops (2010 – present)
The Sea spent the summer of 2010 at Sawmills Studios in Cornwall recording their second album, Rooftops with producer John Cornfield, only taking time out to play four separate European festival headline slots including the Musikschutzgebiet Festival in Germany and Kuahgartn Open Air Festival Switzerland.
The Sea also completed a large European tour in October 2010 playing France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Italy and Switzerland.
The mixing of the 2nd album went on mid way into 2011. In April and May 2011 The Sea embarked on yet another European tour, during a break in the tour Alex suffered a freak surfing accident which prevented The Sea from completing the tour or indeed any dates throughout the summer of 2011. However during this time many of their songs featured on British TV, Don’t You Want Me was featured on Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks and Silly Love Song (from the forthcoming album) was featured on an advert on the 5* Channel[6]
The Sea returned to the stage in August 2011 supporting The Kills in Hamburg and further festival dates.
Autumn and winter tours are scheduled for Europe (France, Germany, Belgium and UK) as well as CMJ festival in New York, USA and a one off concert in Rio de Janeiro.
The album Rooftops is scheduled for release in the UK on Lusty Records and Pop Up in Europe on 28 November. The first single New York is out 1 November 2011 and is already receiving positive reaction on German radio airplay,[6] as well as being featured on British TV show Hollyoaks.
