Nakoma, an instrumental three-piece formed in Beijing, is becoming one of the forerunners of modern prog-punk on the Chinese Mainland. Their music mixes math rock elements and punk intensity with medic and atmospheric wanderings, though always retaining a hard edge at the core. Their technical precision creates razor sharp hooks and hard and heavy riffs that defies you to try and not bang your head and rock out, in spite of the unpredictable rhythmical patterns.
 
In June 2015, Nakoma released their first, full-length self-titled album Nakoma. The tracks range between math-rock oriented aggression of “The Fray” and “Medicted Apes” and melodic, meandering compositions of “Caravan” and “Solaris”.
