Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
Between UNESCO Center for Peace and Sahaja Meditation
为了达成和平之目的,和平中心与霎哈嘉瑜伽冥想达成伙伴关系。在合作备忘录之下,促进联合国教科文组织的使命和理念的理解,通过各种活动培养新一代的和平缔造者,将人类的尊严放于他们活动的中心,致力于通过教育、科学、文化、沟通和冥想将和平的文化贯穿于他们每日的生活之中。
UNESCO Center for Peace, promoting the ideals of UNESCO, has been building strong alliances in the Washington, DC metro area since 2004. Major partners include Americans for UNESCO, the Frederick County Public Schools, Hood College, the Frederick Community College, the Maryland School for the Deaf and the Maryland chapter of the United Nations Association-USA. Over the years, the center has become a cultural anchor for the region, celebrating community diversity, contributing on current issues and events, engaging policy makers, and working with all stake holders to further the understanding of peace and tolerance.”
To that end, the Center is entering into a partnership with Sahaja Meditation,introduced by Mrs. Nirmala Srivastava on 05.05.1970, under this MOU to promote the understanding of UNESCO’s mission and ideals and to translate them into programs that will help raise a new generation of Peacemakers, placing Human Dignity at the center of their activities and striving to make the culture of peace a commodity of everyday life through Education, Science, Culture, Communication and Meditation. Sahaja Meditation is a registered trademark of Vishwa Nirmala Dharma, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in the United States in May 1985.
With this Memorandum of Understanding, the above named parties agree to enter into a partnership that will advance the overall purpose of Peace in the region. The partnership may also support the dedicated efforts of volunteers recruited by UNESCO Center for Peace and Sahaja Meditation. Both organization may use each other’s logo on event flyer for events, activities and programs that are mutually beneficial.
During the program timeframe of June 1,2010 through May 31,2012, Sahaja Meditation will contribute to the partnership formalized by this MOU by:
■Participating to the events organized by the center that fit their mission;
■Assist with the promotionyenrolling of youth and provide effective youth mentoring activities; and
■Providing training, support, and resources to youth.
■Provide space for events and classes when space available
■Provide speakers for Center’s events
■Collaborate on 1 special event (MLK Day)
